RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
In transpersonal psychology and humanities– research in psychospiritual personality development, depth structures of self-consciousness. Phenomenological and hemeneutic methods in psychology. Cultural theory and practice development. Meditation and prayer research. Psychosomatic mechanisms in behaviour. Yoga, Shakta-Vedanta, Advaita Vedanta and Hesychasm as systems of human development.

Research outcomes: innovative programs for academic and public education, 5 articles published, book chapter in progress and book proposal submitted, Hridayam® trademark registered in a novel methodology of guidance of psychospiritual growth (Hridayam® Coaching of the Kundalini Process of Spiritual Awakening). Research project (2003) submitted to Stanford Humanities Center: Prayer of the Heart as an Essential Activity of the Self: A cross-disciplinary enquiry into the cultural-historical modes of spiritual practice.
In neuroscience – conducted research in molecular and functional mechanisms of glia-neuron relationship in normal brain, normal sleep cycle, sleep disorders and in clinical conditions such as schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue etc. Developed new methods in neurocognitive experiment, animal modeling, and immunoassays.

Research outcomes – 36 articles published in major journals in Russia and Europe, 1 book chapter co-authored, 3 patents in biotechnology registered in Russia. Interdisiplinary research project submitted (2003) to the American Association of the Advancement of the Science for the collaborative three-way research with the Laboratory of the Higher Nervous Activity, Pavlov Institute in Russia, and the St. Petersburg Department of philosophy in the Russian Academy of Science: Functional Rearrangements in the Human Brain During the Structured and Registered Exploration of Self-Consciousness: A Culture-Sensitive Study.

In social and action research – cultural and social studies in Russia and U.S. for cross-cultural construction of educational alternative programs and institutions. Research in human transformation in conditions of cultural change, and study of cultural healing systems.

Research outcomes: 2 educational religious non-profit organizations incorporated in Russia and United States; development of dialog methods and conducting seminars and trainings.
